Journal of Insect Biology and Applied Entomology (JIBAE)

The Journal of Insect Biology and Applied Entomology (JIBAE) is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly publication process. This Article Withdrawal Policy outlines the circumstances under which a submitted or accepted manuscript may be withdrawn before publication.

Article withdrawal is intended to correct the publication process while maintaining transparency, fairness and ethical publishing standards.

Policy Statement

Authors are encouraged to carefully review their manuscripts before submission. Requests for article withdrawal will be considered only under genuine and justifiable circumstances. Once the editorial and production process has significantly progressed, withdrawal requests may not be approved.

Acceptable Reasons for Withdrawal

Major Scientific Errors

Discovery of significant errors that affect the validity or reliability of the research findings.

Duplicate Submission

Accidental submission of the manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously.

Ethical Concerns

Identification of ethical issues requiring correction before publication.

Author Disputes

Serious authorship disagreements that cannot be resolved before publication.

Legal Issues

Copyright disputes, confidentiality concerns or legal restrictions affecting publication.

Institutional Request

Withdrawal requested due to institutional investigation or official recommendation.

Withdrawal Request Procedure

  • The corresponding author must submit a formal withdrawal request to the Editorial Office.
  • The request should clearly explain the reason for withdrawal.
  • Where multiple authors are involved, written consent from all co-authors may be required.
  • The Editorial Office will review the request before making a final decision.
  • Authors should wait for written confirmation before considering the manuscript withdrawn.

Editorial Evaluation

Each withdrawal request is reviewed individually by the Editorial Office. The journal reserves the right to seek clarification or additional supporting documentation before approving or declining a withdrawal request.

Editorial decisions are based on publication ethics, manuscript status and the reason provided for withdrawal.

Withdrawal After Acceptance

Withdrawal requests submitted after a manuscript has been accepted are discouraged. If editorial processing, copyediting, typesetting or publication preparation has already begun, withdrawal may not be permitted except under exceptional circumstances.

Withdrawal After Publication

Once an article has been formally published, it cannot normally be withdrawn. Post-publication concerns are handled through the journal's Corrections & Retractions Policy where appropriate.

Author Responsibilities

  • Submit only original manuscripts intended for publication.
  • Avoid duplicate or simultaneous submissions.
  • Ensure that all authors approve the withdrawal request.

  • Communicate promptly with the Editorial Office regarding any concerns.
