The Journal of Insect Biology and Applied Entomology (JIBAE) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of transparency, integrity and ethical publishing. Authors, reviewers and editors are required to disclose any actual, potential or perceived conflicts of interest that may influence the research, peer-review process or editorial decisions.
Full disclosure helps ensure fairness, objectivity and confidence in the scientific publication process.
A conflict of interest exists when professional judgment concerning a primary interest, such as research quality or editorial objectivity, could be influenced by a secondary interest including financial, personal, professional, academic or institutional relationships.
The journal requires complete disclosure of all relevant conflicts of interest at the time of manuscript submission and throughout the publication process.
Reviewers should decline invitations to review manuscripts if any conflict of interest could affect their objectivity.
Editors are expected to make independent editorial decisions based solely on scientific quality and relevance to the journal.
Research funding, grants, employment, consultancy fees, stock ownership, patents or commercial sponsorship.
Collaboration, institutional relationships, academic competition or advisory positions related to the submitted work.
Family relationships, close friendships or personal disputes that may affect professional judgment.
Direct competition, supervisory relationships or shared research projects with authors.
Authors should include a dedicated Conflict of Interest Statement within the manuscript. If no conflicts exist, authors should clearly state:
Failure to disclose a relevant conflict of interest may result in editorial action, including manuscript rejection, publication of a correction, retraction of the article or notification of the relevant institution where appropriate.
The Editorial Office will evaluate disclosed conflicts of interest and, where necessary, take appropriate measures to protect the integrity of the peer review and publication process.
Disclosure of a conflict does not automatically prevent publication; however, failure to disclose relevant information may constitute publication misconduct.
The Journal of Insect Biology and Applied Entomology is committed to promoting ethical publishing practices through transparency, accountability and responsible disclosure of conflicts of interest by all participants in the publication process.
