Creating or inventing research data, observations or experimental results that were never obtained.

Submitting or publishing substantially similar work in more than one journal without appropriate disclosure.
Including individuals who did not contribute or excluding deserving authors from the manuscript.

When research misconduct is suspected, the Editorial Office may conduct a confidential investigation. Authors may be requested to provide original data, supporting documentation or clarification regarding the concerns raised.
The journal may also consult reviewers, editorial board members or the authors' institution where appropriate.
