Reviewers are responsible for evaluating manuscripts based on scientific merit, originality, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, ethical compliance and relevance to the journal’s scope.
Their comments help editors make informed editorial decisions and assist authors in improving the quality of their manuscripts.
Assess whether the manuscript presents new findings, concepts, methods or interpretations.
Evaluate the research design, methodology, data analysis and reliability of results.
Determine whether the manuscript fits the aims and scope of insect biology and applied entomology.
Assess the structure, language, presentation of figures, tables and overall readability.
All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, copy, distribute, discuss or use manuscript content for personal or professional advantage before publication.
Reviewers should decline a review invitation if they have any personal, professional, financial, academic or institutional conflict of interest that may affect their impartial judgment.
Any potential conflict should be reported to the Editorial Office immediately.
Reviewers should notify the editor if they suspect plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, unethical research practices or significant ethical concerns in the submitted manuscript.
Reviewers are requested to complete their review within the assigned timeframe. If a reviewer is unable to complete the review on time, they should inform the Editorial Office as early as possible.
